The Discipleship Cohort
at All Saints Church

About
The Discipleship Cohort (TDC) is a ministry of All Saints Church for young adults (ages 21-30). At All Saints Church, we believe that discipleship begins with cultivating a thriving relationship with Jesus. The aim for the cohort is that its participants would tangibly grow in love of God and others as they live in intentional community with one another and pursue the Lord together. TDC is open to anyone who is desiring deeper intimacy with the Lord and wants to grow in spiritual, relational, and emotional maturity.
Discipleship and formation into Christ-likeness doesn't happen by accident. The twelve who Jesus called to be his first disciples spent a lot of time sitting at Jesus' feet, learning from him, asking honest questions, and desiring to integrate the way of Jesus into every area of their lives. We believe the Spirit is inviting us, the church, into the same kind of discipleship today. TDC offers its participants the opportunity to set apart nine-months to invest in becoming healthier, more-mature disciples of Jesus. Though the content of the program covers a variety of topics/themes, everything we do is aimed towards knowing Jesus and trusting him more.
Who is the Discipleship Cohort for?
The concepts that we explore during the 9-month program are applicable to everyone, regardless of what season of life you find yourself in. Some participants are pursuing vocational ministry while others are exploring various callings in industry, the academy, or the marketplace. Some are currently living into a clear calling and others are in a season of discernment. Some participants are couples who are dating or married, and other participants are single. Whatever season you're in, the Lord wants to minister to you in the midst of it. Therefore, the cohort is open to all young adults who are desiring to know the Lord more and ready to mature spiritually, relationally, and emotionally.
What can I expect?
Participants in The Discipleship Cohort are invited into individual and shared rhythms of life. These rhythms are meant to foster holistic flourishing and maturity in the private and corporate lives of the members. The expectation is that the Cohort participants would commit to the following rhythms:

01. Communion with Jesus
If participants gain nothing else from their time in the cohort, our prayer is that at the end of the nine months, their relationship with the living God will have grown richer, deeper, and more-honest. The best thing we can devote ourselves to is learning how to truly be with the Lord; to sit at his feet, worship him, and receive his loving ministry to us. Additionally, the cohort is integrated into the corporate worship life of All Saints Church, including Sunday worship gatherings.

02. Living Communally
Community is vital to the life of the follower of Jesus. Community isn't just a company of people who see each other for 2 hours every Sunday, but it's a group truly doing life together; slowing down to really know and be known by one another. The cohort will collectively craft a rule of life together that fosters connection with one another and with the Lord in the context of the group.

03. Serving Generously
Cohort members will fulfill a service requirement of 6-8 hours per month. There are many ways to serve at All Saints, and the ministry leaders will help each participant discern where they might be a best fit. The Cohort together serves at each Feast & Feast, a night of feasting and worship open to all young adults.
04. Receiving
The first year of the program is designed to prioritize receiving from the Lord. As we grow in relational intimacy with the Lord, there is often much healing to be had. It's important, then, that participants enter their first year honestly, vulnerably willing to receive leadership and care from the ministry leaders.
